Buffalo Sabres trade Cederqvist for future considerations

The Buffalo Sabres announced on Thursday that they have traded forward Filip Cederqvist to the Montreal Canadiens. This trade was made in exchange for future considerations.

Cederqvist, who is 23 years old, has played in 19 games for the Rochester Americans this season. During that time, he has scored one goal and assisted on three others. Cederqvist was selected by the Sabres in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft. Over the course of his career, he has played in 74 AHL games for Rochester, accumulating 24 points with 10 goals and 14 assists. In the 2023 postseason, Cederqvist contributed three points in eight games.

As for the Buffalo Sabres, they will be hosting the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
