Buffalo Sabres’ comeback bid falls short in loss to Anaheim Ducks

Jakob Silfverberg opened the scoring for the Ducks 5:51 into the game. They later extended their lead to 3-0 with goals by Sam Carrick and Silfverberg, scored just 53 seconds apart early in the second period. The Ducks dominated the second period with a 19-6 advantage in shots.

Buffalo Sabres forward, Kyle Okposo, described the second period as the worst they had played all year. He criticized their performance as awful and not good enough. Okposo highlighted the team’s defensive lapses, giving up numerous chances and being on the wrong side of the puck. He acknowledged that they had dug themselves into a significant hole that proved difficult to overcome.

Although the team battled in the third period, Okposo admitted that the league is too competitive to successfully recover from such a large deficit.
