Tuch chosen as Buffalo Sabres’ nominee for King Clancy Memorial Trophy
Alex Tuch has been named as the Sabres’ nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. This award is presented annually to the NHL player who demonstrates exemplary leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a significant humanitarian contribution to his community.
Each of the NHL’s 32 clubs nominates one player for this award, and the winner is chosen by a committee of senior NHL executives, including commissioner Gary Bettman and deputy commissioner Bill Daly. The recipient of the King Clancy Memorial Trophy will receive a $25,000 donation to a charity of their choice, while two runners-up will each receive $5,000 donations.
Tuch’s consecutive nomination for this award follows shortly after Sabres fans voted him as the recipient of the 2023-24 Rick Martin Memorial Award, also known as “The Rico.” This award is presented annually to the player who fans believe best represents the qualities of a Buffalo Sabre, including on-ice excellence, resiliency, and dedication to the community.
