Sabres unite in final win over Lightning with Comrie leading the charge

Alex Tuch expressed that the team was prepared to put up a tough fight for their goaltender, Eric Comrie. Comrie made 16 key saves during the first period and was able to secure a 4-2 victory for his team at Amalie Arena. Comrie’s resilience and positive influence on the team’s younger goalies, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Devon Levi, played a part in the coaching staff’s decision to start him for the game against the Lightning. Sabres coach Don Granato noted the excitement within the team for Comrie’s start, highlighting the strong support for him within the locker room.

The victory and the support from his teammates meant a great deal to Comrie, as he reflected on the challenges he faced throughout the season, including being sent down to Rochester and enduring periods without a win. He expressed his gratitude for the hard work and effort put in by his teammates, emphasizing the significance of the win for him personally. Comrie acknowledged the tough year he had experienced but emphasized his pride in playing for the Buffalo Sabres and the honor it has been for him to be part of the team.
