Quinn scores two goals to lead Sabres in victory against Flyers
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, a member of the Buffalo Sabres, is well familiar with Jack Quinn’s powerful shot, having practiced against it since they became teammates in the AHL in 2020. Rochester Americans coach Seth Appert used to have Quinn participate in shooting drills to challenge the goalies, and Luukkonen still finds it challenging to face Quinn’s hard and deceptive release.
Luukkonen expressed his dislike for dealing with Quinn’s shot, stating that Quinn is relentless in his goal to score and doesn’t concern himself with the goalies. However, despite his feelings about facing Quinn’s shots, Luukkonen spoke highly of Quinn’s performance in a recent game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Quinn scored two goals, helping the Sabres secure a 4-2 victory and move closer to the second wild card in the Eastern Conference. These goals were Quinn’s first since returning to the lineup on March 27 after missing 23 games due to a lower-body injury.
Moreover, he also missed the first 32 games of the season because of offseason surgery to repair an injured Achilles’ tendon. Luukkonen praised Quinn’s character, describing him as an incredible person and highlighting the challenges Quinn has faced during the season and offseason.
Luukkonen expressed admiration for Quinn’s performance and resilience since returning from injury.
