Ostlund sigue creciendo en la liga de hockey de élite de Suecia
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sweden coach Magnus Havelid crossed paths with Noah Ostlund. He quickly discovered Ostlund’s deep passion for hockey and his positive influence on those around him.
Ostlund, at the age of 17, first played under Havelid on Sweden’s U-18 team. Havelid’s initial impression of Ostlund remained steadfast as they competed together in various championships, including the 2022 IIHF U-18 World Championship, the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, and the recent 2024 World Juniors in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Havelid described Ostlund as a very positive individual, both on and off the ice, noting that he never witnessed Ostlund having a bad practice, not even during optional warmups. He highlighted Ostlund’s love for hockey, dedication to practice, and eagerness to learn as distinctive qualities that define him as a player.
Over the past few years, Havelid has observed Ostlund’s development as a young hockey player. He has seen significant growth in Ostlund, who is currently competing against men in Sweden’s top hockey league.
Ostlund has contributed 18 points (9+9) in 26 games for the Vaxjo Lakers of the SHL, following a season in Sweden’s second-tier Allsvenskan league.
